Cal Poly University's Dairy Science Department is the largest dairy science program in the country and the only dairy science school on the West Coast. Its students prepare for a wide variety of agricultural careers, and Cal Poly graduates are in high demand throughout the country.
The school manages a dairy herd consisting of over 150 Holstein and Jersey cows, allowing students to gain practical experience in animal care and farm management. Cal Poly students also operate the program's processing plant and creamery.
